This Privacy Policy explains how Tranxacty collects, uses, stores, protects, and shares information when you use our website, applications, connected bookkeeping tools, subscription billing, and related services.

1. Scope

This policy applies to Tranxacty services, including account registration, bank and card account connections, bookkeeping dashboards, transaction categorization, rules, custom labels, subscription billing, support, analytics, and communications.

By using Tranxacty, you acknowledge that we process business, personal, billing, financial-account, and transaction information to provide the services you request.

2. Information We Collect

We may collect the following categories of information:

  • Account information, such as name, email address, authentication data, team or profile membership, and account settings.
  • Connected account metadata provided through Plaid, such as institution name, account display name, account type, account subtype, masked account number, balance data when available, connection status, and identifiers needed to sync transactions. Tranxacty does not receive or store your bank login credentials.
  • Transaction information, such as transaction date, merchant or description, amount, currency, category, custom label, account, pending status, rule matches, and review status.
  • Bookkeeping information you create, such as rules, categories, custom labels, profile names, saved classifications, imports, exports, notes, and team actions.
  • Billing information processed through Stripe, such as Stripe customer ID, subscription ID, product ID, price ID, subscription status, invoice status, and payment method metadata. We do not store full card numbers.
  • Technical information, such as IP address, browser, device, referring pages, pages viewed, session events, error logs, security events, and approximate location derived from network information.
  • Support and communication information, such as messages you send to us, support requests, and feedback.

3. Bank Connections And Plaid

Tranxacty uses Plaid to help you connect financial institutions. When you connect an account through Plaid, you authorize Plaid to collect and share selected financial-account and transaction data with Tranxacty. Tranxacty does not receive or store your bank login credentials.

Plaid may process your information under its own terms and privacy disclosures. You can manage or revoke certain Plaid connections through your financial institution, Plaid, or Tranxacty where supported.

4. How We Use Information

We use information to:

  • Provide, operate, secure, and maintain Tranxacty.
  • Authenticate users and protect accounts from misuse.
  • Connect bank and card accounts, sync transactions, and display bookkeeping data.
  • Apply rules, categories, custom labels, and review workflows.
  • Process subscriptions, trials, upgrades, invoices, and billing.
  • Detect errors, abuse, unauthorized access, and fraud.
  • Provide customer support and service communications.
  • Improve product reliability, usability, performance, and security.
  • Comply with legal obligations, enforce our terms, and respond to lawful requests.

5. Analytics And Cookies

We may use cookies, local storage, session cookies, and similar technologies to keep you signed in, protect your session, remember preferences, measure product usage, and improve the service.

We may use Google Analytics or similar analytics tools. These services may collect information about pages visited, device and browser details, approximate location, referring pages, and usage events. You can adjust browser settings or use available opt-out tools, but some service functionality may require cookies.

6. How We Share Information

We do not sell your connected financial-account data. We may share information only as needed for the following purposes:

  • Service providers, including hosting, database, analytics, security, email, logging, customer support, and infrastructure providers.
  • Financial-data and payment providers, including Plaid for bank connectivity and Stripe for billing, invoices, payment methods, subscriptions, and customer portal services.
  • Team members and authorized users within your Tranxacty account or profiles, according to account permissions.
  • Legal, safety, and compliance recipients when required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect Tranxacty, users, third parties, or the public.
  • Business transfers, such as a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, subject to reasonable confidentiality protections.

7. Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. These safeguards include HTTPS for data in transit, password hashing, restricted access, secure session handling, and application-level encryption for sensitive financial access tokens. Tranxacty also relies on trusted infrastructure providers that support encryption at rest, backups, and operational security controls.

No internet service, software system, or third-party integration can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You are responsible for using a strong password, protecting your devices, limiting team access, and promptly notifying us of suspected unauthorized use.

8. Data Retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide Tranxacty, maintain records, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, enforce agreements, and support backups and disaster recovery. Retention periods may vary by data type, account status, legal requirement, and operational need.

If you cancel your account or disconnect a financial institution, we may retain certain transaction, billing, security, tax, accounting, audit, or legal records where permitted or required.

9. Your Choices And Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, or restrict certain personal information. You may also be able to object to certain processing or withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

To request access, deletion, or correction, contact us at tranxacty@gmail.com. We may need to verify your identity and may deny or limit requests where permitted by law, including where retention is required for security, fraud prevention, billing, legal, tax, or accounting purposes.

10. Financial, Tax, And Accounting Data

Tranxacty helps organize bookkeeping information, but it does not replace professional tax, legal, accounting, payroll, audit, or financial advice. Categories, labels, rules, exports, summaries, and automated classifications may be incomplete, inaccurate, or inappropriate for your circumstances. You are responsible for reviewing your books and consulting qualified professionals.

11. Children

Tranxacty is intended for business use and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can take appropriate action.

12. International Users

Tranxacty is operated from the United States. If you access the service from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States and other jurisdictions where our providers operate. Those jurisdictions may have different data protection laws than your location.

13. Changes To This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If changes are material, we may provide notice through the service, email, or other reasonable means. Your continued use of Tranxacty after an updated policy becomes effective means you accept the updated policy.
